BSS : (Base Station Sub System) refers to the section of cellular telephone network which is responsible for handling traffic and signaling between a mobile phone and the network switching subsystem. BSS is composed of two parts: the Base Transceiver Station (BTS) and the Base Station Controller (BSC).
